Police are the lead on missing person cases, and there is no requirement to wait before reporting someone missing. Families often hire a private detective to add hours and focus: canvassing businesses, following digital and records leads, and keeping momentum on a case that police must balance against many others.
We coordinate with the investigating agency, share what we find, and never do anything that could compromise their work.
Situations families call us about
- An adult child who has stopped answering and left their home
- A family member struggling with addiction or mental health who has disappeared
- A loved one who left with someone the family does not know
- A case that police have classified as voluntary but the family doubts
- Long-term missing cases where new information has surfaced
- A runaway teenager, alongside an active police report

Tennessee law that matters here
A detective supports, but never replaces, law enforcement. We provide leads to the investigating officer and follow their guidance on anything that could affect the case.
Adults may choose to leave and not be found. If we locate an adult who is safe and does not want contact, we can confirm their welfare to the family without disclosing their location.

Questions about this service
Missing person questions
Do I have to wait 24 hours to report someone missing?
No. You can and should report as soon as you believe someone is missing, especially if they may be at risk.
Will police work with a private detective?
Many officers welcome additional leads. We coordinate respectfully and share what we find.
What if they do not want to be found?
Adults have the right to leave. If we find a safe adult who does not want contact, we confirm their welfare to you without revealing where they are, unless they agree.
