Nashville private detectives for the questions you can’t ask out loud.

How a case runs

From first call to final report, you always know what happens next.

No retainer surprises and no vague promises. You approve the plan and the cost before any work starts.

  1. 01

    A confidential conversation

Tell us what is going on. We ask the questions that matter, tell you what is realistic, and say so plainly if a detective is not the right answer.

  2. 02

    A written plan and cost

Dates, hours, locations, number of detectives and the deliverable, in writing. Nothing starts until you approve it.

  3. 03

    Quiet field work

Surveillance, records, interviews and research, carried out lawfully. You get updates on the schedule you choose, through the channel you say is safe.

  4. 04

    Evidence you can use

A clear written report with time-stamped photos and video, ready for you, your attorney or a courtroom, and a straight answer about next steps.

Inside the law, every time

What we will do for you, and what we never will.

Evidence gathered illegally can sink your case and expose you to criminal charges. Knowing the line protects you as much as it protects us.

We will

  • Watch and record activity in public placesParking lots, roads, restaurants, stores: anywhere there is no reasonable expectation of privacy.
  • Search public, court and proprietary recordsAddresses, property, businesses, lawsuits, criminal and civil filings.
  • Find and interview witnessesAnd locate people who have moved, changed numbers or gone quiet.
  • Write it up and stand behind itA plain-English report, and testimony from the detective who did the work.

We won’t

  • Put a GPS tracker on a vehicle you don’t ownTennessee makes it a crime without the consent of every owner (Tenn. Code Ann. § 39-13-606).
  • Record conversations we aren’t part ofTennessee is a one-party consent state; intercepting other people’s calls is a felony (§ 39-13-601).
  • Hack phones, email or social accountsNo password guessing, spyware or “getting into” anyone’s devices.
  • Pretext for phone or bank recordsPosing as someone to obtain those records violates federal law.

Downtown Nashville

Nashville is our beat

We know where people go in this city, and how to blend in when we get there.

Lower Broadway on a Saturday night is a different surveillance job than a cul-de-sac in Brentwood or an apartment complex off Nolensville Pike. Local knowledge decides whether a detective gets the shot or gets noticed.

  • Divorce and custody cases in Davidson County run through the Fourth Circuit Court; we document with that courtroom in mind.
  • Interstates 24, 40 and 65 make it easy to cross a county line in minutes. We plan routes and hand-offs before the subject moves.
  • Event nights, game days and CMA Fest change traffic, parking and crowds. We schedule around them, or use them.

Straight answers

Questions people ask before they call.

Don’t see yours? Text it. You will get a real answer from a detective.

Is hiring a private detective legal in Tennessee?

Yes. Private investigation is a licensed profession in Tennessee, regulated by the Department of Commerce & Insurance under the Private Investigators Licensing and Regulatory Act (Tenn. Code Ann. Title 62, Chapter 26). What matters is how the work is done: lawful surveillance from public places, public and proprietary records, interviews and open-source research are all legal. Hacking accounts, recording other people’s private conversations or hiding a GPS tracker on a car you don’t own are not, and we do not do them.

Will the person know they are being investigated?

Our goal is that they never do. Surveillance is run from vehicles and positions chosen to blend in, we do not contact the subject unless that is part of an agreed plan, and nothing is mailed to your home or sent to a shared email unless you tell us it is safe. If the risk of being noticed gets too high on a given day, we pull back and try again rather than burn the case.

How much does a private detective cost in Nashville?

It depends on the work: a records-based locate or background check is a defined, smaller job; surveillance is priced by the hours in the field and how many detectives the situation needs. We do not start the clock on a phone call. You get the plan and the cost in writing first, and nothing happens until you approve it. See how hiring works for what drives cost and how to keep it down.

Can what you find be used in court?

That is the standard we work to. Surveillance video is time- and date-stamped, notes are kept contemporaneously, reports are written plainly enough for a judge to follow, and the detective who did the work can testify about it. Whether a judge admits or weighs a particular piece of evidence is up to the court, which is why we recommend involving your attorney early on anything headed to litigation.

Do I have to give my name to ask a question?

No. You can call or text and describe the situation in general terms first. We will tell you honestly whether a detective is likely to help, what it would involve, and what we would need from you. If you decide to move forward, we will need your identity and a signed agreement, as any licensed agency must.

Which areas do you cover?

All of Nashville and Davidson County, plus Brentwood and Franklin, Murfreesboro and Smyrna, Hendersonville and Gallatin, Mt. Juliet and Lebanon, and the rest of Middle Tennessee. Subjects do not stay put, so surveillance follows them where the law allows. See the full Nashville service area.

What if the investigation finds nothing?

Then you have learned something real. An honest “nothing happened during the hours we watched” can be as valuable as a photograph, and we report it the same way. We will also tell you when continuing is unlikely to change the picture, so you are not paying for hope.

Should I talk to a lawyer first?

If you are already in a divorce, custody case or lawsuit, yes, or at least at the same time. Evidence is most useful when it answers the questions your attorney actually needs answered. We regularly work at an attorney’s direction, and we are glad to talk with yours before we start.

Tell us what’s going on.

A short, confidential conversation is the fastest way to know whether a detective can get you the answer, and what it would take.
